How McLellan Law Tripled Its Digital Cases With SEO
A California employment law firm turned Google into its largest source of new matters in four months.
McLellan Law is an employment law firm in Saratoga, California. Until May 2026, almost all of its new matters came through referrals and the partners' own network. In June, Claura launched a content program for Google search, and by September monthly inquiries had grown from 21 to 79.

A strong referral base that was hard to grow
Until May, McLellan Law opened 6 to 9 matters a month, almost all of them through referrals and the partners' own network. That base is strong, but it's hard to grow: new cases depended on who already knew the firm.
Answer what California workers are searching for right now
In June we launched a content program built around one idea: answer what California workers are searching for right now. Each article targets a real, current question, so the firm shows up exactly when someone needs an employment lawyer.

More visibility on Google. In September, Google clicks grew 66% and the site's average position improved from 9.6 to 7.5.
One article became the firm's top page. Our article on the Kaiser Permanente layoffs ranked on page one in its first month and peaked at about 230 clicks a day.
Traffic turned into cases. Monthly inquiries grew from 21 in May to 79 in September. Matters opened grew every month, reaching 15 in September. Quarter over quarter, matters from the digital intake tripled (from 8 to 24) and total matters rose 76%, while referrals held steady.
